No woman has ever said she has enough shoes, handbags, and might I say, handbag accessories, right? I mean, it’s totally acceptable to rotate through about 6 or 7 wallets if I can justify each of their uses, correct? Well, here is my attempt at justifying my collection of wallets, card cases, card holders, pouches, and even a passport holder. What is the point of a passport holder, can I ask? I’ve always wondered why one would need one, but they are certainly pretty!
WALLETS
I really only have two wallets that I use, and those change depending on the size of the bag that I use. Actually, make that three. The one I use the most is my Louis Vuitton Sarah Wallet in the Monogram Vernis Leather. This is a rather large, kind of heavy wallet and I can fit my whole life in it, including my cell phone if pressed. Since I use a tote bag 90% of the time, this is not a problem. It also has a sentimental value since Michael gave it to me to cheer me up when our first dog passed away. It didn’t cheer me up, but it was a very nice try! The second wallet was another gift from Michael-the Mulberry French Purse. It’s significantly smaller in size than the Sarah but it still holds about the same amount inside. Finally, I also picked up the Kate Spade Cedar Street Small Stacy for when I travel. It allows me to pare down to the bare necessities but still has room for cash, a few credit cards, an ID window and even change.
CARD CASES
This next category is where things get a little out of control. There really is no way I can justify more than two of these, but hey, now that I have them all, I’m not going to get rid of them! My favorite of the bunch is the Elaine Turner Mini Wallet. It has six card slots (3 on each side) and a nice pocket at the top to fold up your cash. I’m all about having options, so I like having all those card slots. My next favorite is the GiGi New York Mini Zip Card Case, because, like it says in the name, the top zips up. It’s always nice to have a little extra security. Finally, I also have the Kate Spade New York Card Holder because…because I bought it before I bought the Elaine Turner one. And the one I have is pink. So there. There is one more card case that I can justify because it is a business card case. I got it at Henri Bendel and I absolutely love it! It’s just the classic Henri Bendel Card Case and they also have it available in a variety of colors on their site. Also, since a lot of you have asked, I’ve been ordering my business cards from Moo.com for years now. They’re a much better quality than other online options, and they now offer gold foil. They have a lot of great pre-made designs or you can custom make your own.
RANDOM ACCESSORIES
There are a few commonly used accessories that really don’t fall into a particular category. For instance, I did get a passport case with a recent GiGi New York order. I’m still not sure what the point of one of those is, but it looks pretty cool. I haven’t busted it out yet, but I’m hoping for some international travel to come my way soon! I also got an iPhone phone case/wallet from GiGi New York. It’s not just a phone case, and it’s not just a wallet, so I decided to put it in the “random” category. I love that if I’m heading to the beach, pool, or going on a school run, this can handle everything I need for the short term. Finally, I had to include one “pouch”. I have had this Rebecca Minkoff pouch for years, and it holds all my beauty necessities in whatever bag I carry. It’s made out of the softest leather, and in a pinch, it can double as a clutch. I love options!
So that’s the collection…for now. What suggestions do you have? What purse gadgets/organizers/accessories do you have that you think I need to have? Please share!!
