Every year we go on a family vacation in July, and this year we let Jake pick the location, since he turned 18 this summer AND graduated from high school in June. His first pick was Montreal, but the airline tickets we priced out were outrageous, so we asked him to come up with plan B, and he chose Los Angeles. There are a TON of fun things to do in Los Angeles, and we decided to play tourist and do as many “touristy” things as we could that we hadn’t done before. As you might be able to tell in the picture above, we went to Santa Monica Pier for a ride on the iconic ferris wheel, then went to Venice Beach to see the wacky and wild scene there.
But I’m getting ahead of myself…if you want to see all of the fun we got up to, then definitely go watch the video HERE (or click on the picture above). I also listed in the video description box all the usual stuff-what I wore, what makeup I brought, but also some of our favorite restaurants where we ate. And boy did we eat!!
Since not everyone follows me on social media, I thought I’d insert some pictures that I shared on Instagram as well as some family photos that didn’t make it into the video. Enjoy!
Shane enjoying the view from the Ferris Wheel
Jake hanging out on Leo Carrillo State Beach in Malibu-a beach I used to visit every year as a child!
Michael and I at Griffiths Observatory-and the Hollywood sign WAY in the background!
A little fooling around while waiting for the elevator at the hotel…
Sitting on the couch from “Friends” at Warner Brother Studios (this will probably be our 2016 holiday card)
Had to go to a Dodgers game-and they won!
My boys at the beach in Malibu
That’s a REAL Oscar!! And it really is heavy!!
Highlight of the trip and weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced-meeting and talking to Caitlin Jenner at a Starbucks in Malibu.
So there you have it-the Goldberg Summer 2016 Family Vacation. Be sure to watch the video to see most of what we did! This coming week is all about getting Jake ready to go to Ole Miss. It’s the big build-up to the big send-off! Until then, have a great week, and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel to see vlogs on Sundays and regular videos on Tuesdays and Fridays!
